About Hyuk shin

153/Joombas Music Group founder and executive producer Hyuk Shin is a decorated music producer and entrepreneur, who has had a long standing history of success in entertainment.

His first placement as a music producer was with global teenage phenom Justin Bieber, with the RIAA-certified triple-platinum record “One Less Lonely Girl.” The song peaked at #16 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, making Shin the first-ever Korean-born producer to chart on Billboard. The song gained the attention of labels in his home country of South Korea, who reached out to him in hopes of getting their own global hit song. After forging a strong relationship with SM Entertainment, Shin would go on to architect mega boy band EXO’s breakthrough single in the form of hit smash “Growl,” which would propel EXO to the top of the boy band hierarchy and establish them as one of the most commercially successful acts of all-time in Asia.

Shin continued to build on this success in establishing Joombas Music Group in 2012, earning nine #1 domestic chart debuts and multiple #1 entries on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

Shin also has proven to have a great eye and ear for exceptional artistic talent. Shin discovered Blackbear in Atlanta before he was a household name in the pop/R&B world and also launched the career of R&B artist DEAN, who has since won accolades at the Korean Grammy awards with the album’s executive producing handled by Shin.

In 2018, Shin forged a strategic, global joint-venture partnership with Warner Music Group, rebranding Joombas Music Group into 153/Joombas Music Group and subsequently, its record label & artist management arm. Through this partnership, Shin’s vision is to cultivate and partner with artists whose music and content look to make a positive impact and shift culture. The first artist partnership of this sort is with rising singer-songwriter NIve.
